Our Mission
Veterans Casting Away Disabilities (VCAD) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to giving veterans with life-changing disabilities a place to heal, connect, and thrive. Our mission is healing through the outdoors.
Founded by veterans, for veterans, VCAD began with a simple idea: healing is easier when you’re surrounded by people who understand. Many of our participants live with visible or invisible disabilities that can make everyday life feel isolating. At our events, they find more than just fun on the water—they find camaraderie, laughter, and freedom.
Our programs are made possible entirely through the generosity of donors, sponsors, and volunteers. Every dollar we receive goes directly toward hosting life-changing experiences for those who have served our country. We provide more than a fishing trip. We offer a place to recharge, to forge lifelong friendships, and to rediscover the freedom that comes with open skies and open water.
